which is better for snorkeling Hawaii or USVI?
Q. Which is better for snorkeling? Hawaii? Or the Us Virgin Islands? thank you! I was also wondering about the stillness of the water's. In the USVI there are bay's that are so still they look like lake water. I've never been to hawaii and I've always seen pictures of waves and surfers. I'm just not sure if there are any areas with water still enough for snorkeling or not.

A. I would think they are the same with different types of fish. We have many beaches like what your talking about and the surf comes and goes. and you have to think of the time of the year when the winter swells come in to produce those massive 30 foot waves. So in the winter you go to south side of the islands Check out a beach called baby beach in Lahaina Maui Hawaii. This is where we take our kids to swim it is about 5 feet deep and so warm with no waves. it is like a big 300 acre pool and so clear you don't need a mask to see in the water.
