Sprint!!!!?
Q. I just recently got my sprint bill that has 5 different lines and 2 of the lines got charged $75 each for "PCS data" apparently they are for downloading a ringtone and a game which were paid for also. This is ridiculous and extra $150 to download a ringtone and a game that already costs $2.50 and $6.99. I tried calling customer service, they don't help. Is there anything I can do to get this taken off? Has anyone else had this problem with sprint?

A. Tell them that you want to cancel. They will transfer you to their "retention" department or whatever it is called. Usually these reps are better equipped to handle these kind of issues. Also, you might walk away with a better deal if you know what the competition is offering. Good luck!

Q. im getting a new phone soon from sprint ino lots of peeps hate sprint but me i love their phones im thinkin about the m520 if any has had the phone is it a good choice or is the rumor a better choice??? ~~~***Thanx so much***~~~ - K.r.t.

A. I love them both, I am choosing the LG rumor only because it has a full qwerty keyboard for text messaging. Don't get me wrong the M520 is a great phone and has a lot more multimedia features than the rumor. So if you want multimedia over a keyboard, get the M520. If you like a keyboard more get the LG Rumor.

Can I change my Sprint cell phone number to a different Sprint phone?
Q. I bought a Sprint Blackberry Pearl online at Ebay. I have a Sprint Razor, but it is an incredibly slow phone. I want to know if I can transfer my current Sprint number to my new Blackberry even though I didn't buy it at the Sprint store.
Asked by kmperfect21 - Wed Feb 27 13:45:04 2008 - - 3 Answers - 1 Comments

A. Absolutely, provided it wasn't previously reported lost or stolen. Call Sprint Customer Service (1-888-211-4727) from a different line (not the phone you're switching to or from) and tell the rep you want to do an "ESN swap." This is free of charge and usually takes about 5 minutes to complete (doesn't matter where you got the phone). You should be prepared with the serial number to provide, which is the number on the back of the Blackberry behind the battery. It might be labeled "ESN DEC" or "IMEI" and it's all-numeric. If you have trouble locating that, just call and they will help. The rep will then walk you through programming the phone to get it activated. Also let them know if you wanted to add a Blackberry plan, and you can also… [cont.]

Can I start an account with Sprint, using my cell phone from another carrier?
Q. Was told by a local Sprint vendor that my Verizon phone couldn't be used if I switched to the Sprint vendor for cell phone service, ie. I'd need to get a Sprint phone. Is that >> really true << ? Thanks!
Asked by JeffKan1 - Thu Jan 14 21:26:23 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. No you cannot. Yes they are both CDMA devices but a Sprint device and Verizon device have different network settings coded into the software. On some Blackberrys they can be edited to match those of Sprint but this is not recommended nor will a Sprint representative scan your esn from a Verizon phone into their system. I would stick to your Verizon service or take advantage of getting a phone at discount with Sprint if you are signing with them.

What Sprint cell phone gets good reception in the barracks?
Q. My fiancee lives in the barracks and has a Motorola Renegade. He loses calls every time he goes in his room. Does anyone know of a phone that Sprint puts out that gets good reception? If you get good reception in your basement, that would be about the same thing.

A. He is military I imagine. Cell phone companies in general get bad reception on military bases. They do not have the towers and the armed forces does not allow the accommodation for cell towers. I am ex Vz and familiar with this issue. He is going to have to call you off base in the future. That will be hte best solution.

How do I use my Sprint Broadband card in a laptop that does not have a slot?
Q. I just purchased a Acer Aspire Netbook and I love it. The challenge is, there is no aircard slot for my Sprint Novatel Wireless Merlin S720. Instead of returning this laptop or buying the sprint usb modem, is there an adapter that I can simply plug into my usb port? Essentially, I could plug the sprint broadband card into a device that would plug into my usb? Please let me know. Thank you!!!

A. Simple, you can't. Boost uses a different standard than Sprint does. Boost uses IDEN (aka Nextel), and Sprint uses CDMA.

A. I would try calling Sprint or using the Sprint chat function to ask. All you need to do is go to Sprint.com/chat to ask any and all questions you have about your phone, Sprint's service, etc. I used the Sprint chat function to ask your question and they state to send your text to your email address. To do this they say to go into your text messages and select forward then from there you should see an email option. I hope this helps.

A. If you're looking for a smartphone, I'd recommend the Palm Pre or the Samsung Moment. Both feature Sprint's EV-DO Rev. A services and also have wi-fi adapters so that you can utilize extant wi-fi connections. Also, both feature full QWERTY keyboards, so you can text using them. Having used both, I must admit that while I like the Pre's multitasking and multitouch capabilities and the general ease of use of WebOS, the Moment does have a better keyboard and gives you the option of using either the QWERTY keyboard or a virtual one (the Pre only has the physical QWERTY keyboard, although there is a homebrew app to support a virtual keyboard). If you're not looking for a smartphone, the Samsung Exclaim might be a good idea - it's a dual… [cont.]

Can sprint phones receive or send texts from or to other countries?
Q. If so, how do you get them to do it? AND can you get a plan on sprint to where you can call other countries or go to other countries and use your phone there?
Asked by xoxo - Tue Oct 21 22:38:23 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Yes, any phone can text any phone in the world as long as there is a signal. It will incur a charge, though. More often than not, it's a fair bit more than regular texting fees. You cannot take any sprint phones to another country aside from Canada and select other countries that use CDMA networks. This means no taking your phone to Europe and the vast majority of Asia and being able to use it (with the exception of 2 phones) as long as you are on Sprint's network.

How much does it cost to flash a sprint phone to cricket?

Asked by Kaitlyn - Mon Feb 1 21:51:48 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It depends... If you want it partially flashed then it will cost less if you fully flash it. partial flash: This flash means that once your phone is partially flashed to cricket, only text and talk will work, even if your paying for internet and pix etc... the phone will only let talk and text work. full flash: This flash means that talk text web pix all work on your cricket phone. Full flash is mostly more expensive. I've never been to a cricket store that does flashing, usually you have to go to a private business, and sometimes people on craigslist do it... There's also no definite price, it depends on the person your working with. I'd say anywhere between $40 and $60 dollars for a full flash is a pretty average price. It also… [cont.]
