Opinions on weather services?
Q. I am considering going into research that deals directly with operational meteorology (forecasting). I would like to collect people's opinions on weather forecasts, weather products available to the public (maps, radar, satellite), and weather watches/warnings. What do you think of them currently? What would you like to see for the future?

A. This answer is more from the internal view of the field of operational meteorology and how I think we can improve on the services we provide to our users. In the past two decades, we have seen major improvements in in just about all areas that support operational meteorology. With so much good supporting data and models available for use, we should see the continue trend of improving forecasts. But if you look closely at the varification scores over the past 5 years, you will see that the scores we seemed to have leveled off or peaked about 2 to 4 years ago in many locations. A. It is in no way right. These 'people' were unhappy about the woman's choice in partner which is why they did what they did. In reality Islam allows a person to choose who they wish to be their partner. This act is unjustified on all counts. May God bless her.

Weather Affects & At Types of Conditions ?
Q. I was very annoyed with our news channels. Everything is always the "Metro Area", when there is also life beyond. Anyway... I have 2 horses, both have full-winter coats. We live in the SE area of MN. They have a run-in shelter. The gelding gets very spooky when the wind really blows and so won't use the shelter. I think he feels that he has to see everything he hears. The mare isn't nearly as spooky as he is and will usually use the shelter. Anyway, the weather forecast said that our windchills were going to go "well below zero". I didn't realize exactly what this meant. My gelding was very cold this morning and I had the mare separated due to a leg injury. My daughter and I put on their wind/rain sheets that are also rated as… [cont.]
